FAQs

How soon after an accident should I see a chiropractor?

The sooner you get into a chiropractor post-accident, the better. It is recommended to get an exam within 72 hours to assess injuries and customize a treatment plan.

Should I still see a chiropractor if I'm not in pain after an accident?

Even if the accident was minor, auto injuries can occur at 5 MPH or less because impact is not absorbed by the vehicle, it is absorbed by your body.  Auto injuries can sometimes take weeks or months to manifest, but it's important to get into a chiropractor as soon as possible after an accident for a professional exam. Waiting could mean forfeiting your entitled Personal Injury Protection insurance coverage and the risk of hidden injuries causing problems down the road.

What does the auto injury treatment process look like?

Typically, the first visit will consist of talking through the accident and any impact you may be experiencing, taking x-rays, and an initial chiropractic exam and adjustment. Once we review the x-rays, we will make recommendations for treatment in following visits, which can include massage therapy, chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture, etc. If there is any treatment you need that we don't offer, we will refer you to other trusted professionals to get the integrated care you need.

Why is treatment cost-free? What is PIP insurance?

If your vehicle is insured in the state of Utah, your auto insurance is legally required to provide "Personal Injury Protection" (or "PIP") coverage for medical expenses in the case of an auto accident, whether you were at fault or not. We accept all insurances in Utah and work directly with your insurance to make the process as stress-free as possible for you.

What To Do After An Accident

Here are the first steps you should take after you're away from the scene of the accident and ready to start on the legal and medical process.

File a Claim

Call your insurance to report the accident and file a claim. Because injuries are not always immediately apparent after an accident, be careful about denying any injuries until you've had an exam.

Call a Chiropractor

It's important to get into a chiropractor within 24 hours of an accident if possible. An exam is covered under your PIP insurance no matter what.

Consult Your Attorney

Contact your attorney if your injuries are significant, your insurance is uncooperative, or if there is any confusion of fault of the accident.
